Our research focuses on nanoscience and surface chemistry; synthesis, functionalization, and applications of nanoparticles; new methods of analysis for nanoscale materials; chemically-modified surfaces; ligand design; application of green chemistry to nanoscience. Applications for new materials include optical sensors, nanoparticle probes for biomedical applications, nanoparticle-based catalysts and cluster/nanoparticle precursors to inorganic thin films.
